casual elegance bedroom
My client was ready for a bedroom refresh! She had a few pieces she wanted to work with so we started off with a fresh coat of paint (Sherwin Williams Silver Strand) for some subtle color as well as a new berber-style light-neutral carpet.
From there, we selected a beautiful vintage-style area rug to layer underneath the bed and really ground the space. We replaced her current metal bed for an upholstered headboard as an affordable, easy way to create more warmth in the space. That combined with classic linen curtains, layered bedding and this pretty wingback chair make for a cozy and inviting space.
Since we were already working with dressers in a lighter wood grain, I wanted to bring in some contrast with the nightstands — the creamy white color is perfect for our color palette and the size/scale is really nice as well, providing both hidden and open storage with the single drawer and shelf underneath. I paired them with these brushed gold and glass lamps, fabric storage boxes and some picture frames and decor for finishing touches.
For the artwork, I love this bouquet framed canvas print that served as the inspiration for the overall color palette and feel for the space. And this gold leaf framed panorama print for over the bed is the perfect understated, dreamy accent. You’ll notice even more antique brass accents in the oversized round mirror, gallery prints and decor to help elevate the space while still having the overall feel be super casual and comfortable.
And almost no space is complete without a faux potted tree in my book (another similar option linked here) as it’s the perfect way to add height, color and texture to any corner.
